About 1,000 sets of details have been posted out

Bold Hay in Lamerton, which measures 39 feet by 15 feet, is set in 1.45 acres of land in an isolated position near Tavistock and has a guide price of �30,000.

Even though planning officers say permission for residential use is unlikely to be forthcoming, the agents dealing with the sale say about 1,000 set of particulars have already been sent out.

Requests for details of the property have come from as far afield as Holland and Germany.

"We've got through nearly 1,000 sets of details," said Gordon Millar from Stags, who is handling the sale.

"We've just let people turn up here and apparently they have been coming in their droves."

"The majority of the interest has come from the home counties.

"There has been a lot of local interest but I fear they might be priced out."

The property will be sold at public auction in Launceston on 30 September.
