Get a farm job online
Strawberries
Strawberry and herb picking are among the jobs available
Stressed out office workers and city high-flyers are being offered the chance to take working holidays in the great outdoors.

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) has set up a new website to help people find work on farms in the South West.

It is hoped encouraging people to take working holidays in the countryside will help farmers struggling to bring in the harvest.

Every year farmers face a huge challenge to recruit sufficient staff at peak harvest times.

Psychological benefits

To help sell the concept, the NFU has enlisted the support of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).

The BAOT claims that taking a working holiday on a farm may provide physical and psychological benefits to those with stressful indoor city jobs.

The website will carry details of vacancies across the region, offering the chance to pick strawberries, cut cauliflowers, harvest herbs, prune trees and even make hay.
