Guy Watson started the delivery service 10 years ago |
A Devon entrepreneur has been named Organic Business Person of the Year. Guy Watson, who runs Riverford Farm in Buckfastleigh, was recognised at the Soil Association's Organic Awards ceremony in London on Sunday.
His business delivers around 5,500 boxes of fresh organic vegetables across the South West every week.
And last year profits rose by 15%.

The judges said they were impressed "the scale, profitability and broad consumer appeal" he has achieved in the organic sector.
"I have a conviction about business, namely that if it isn't common sense it is probably rubbish," said Mr Watson.
"We trade with openness and integrity and expect the same from our customers and suppliers, this often sees small businesses through hard times and can be an effective substitute for the advertising budgets of larger companies."
And Riverford's vegetable box scheme is celebrating 10 years of successful service this year.
The delivery service started in 1993 supplying to local box organisers who acted as collection points.
The business now supplies its produce across the south and west of England through an expanding number of delivery franchises.
