Hundreds of people turned up for the festival event |
The British National Party has submitted plans to hold its annual summer festival in Derbyshire for the second year running. Last year the Red, White and Blue festival of "Britishness" was held at Denby, near Belper. Residents complained the event would lead to noise and traffic problems but it passed off without problems. Amber Valley Borough Council said it would consider any objections received over the next four weeks. Protestors have already called for opposition to the plans but last year only a single demonstrator picketed the venue.
