M1 widening plans go on display
Plans to widen the M1 from three lanes to four through the East Midlands have gone on show.

The Highways Agency unveiled the proposals in the first of a series of public exhibitions in the region at Long Eaton, Derbyshire on Thursday.

Detailed proposals for the first phase of work between junctions 25 and 28 are on show along with outline plans for phase two between junctions 21 and 30.

There are also interactive exhibits, including a virtual drive on the M1.

Construction work is scheduled to begin in 2007.
