New recycling service criticised
People in part of Derbyshire say a new recycling service has been hit by a series of problems.

Some residents in Amber Valley have complained they were not given new orange and yellow boxes for recycled cardboard and glass.

Others say the items they put out have not been picked up.

The borough council has admitted there are problems, but has asked householders to be patient while the new service settles in.

Jack Brown, cabinet member for public health and the environment, insisted they were working hard to sort problems out.

He said: "It's a learning curve for everyone.

"People are putting out lots of stuff and we are grateful for that and I hope the scheme will work but it might take a little while to settle down."
