Landslide work disrupts traffic
Important safety work will disrupt traffic on a main Derbyshire road, drivers are being warned.

Following a landslide in February, netting is being put up beside the A6 near Cromford, close to the junction with the A5012.

During the work which starts on Monday, there will be lane closures and temporary traffic lights restricting northbound traffic.

Council road mangers are asking drivers to be patient during the week-long job.

Neil Hickman, Derbyshire County Council highways manager for the north western area, said: "These works need to be carried out as areas of the rock face have become weathered over time and further rock falls cannot be ruled out.

"There will be some disruption while the work is going on but we hope this will be kept to a minimum and ask people to be patient."
