Security on the menu for elderly
People who have meals on wheels will be getting an extra delivery as part of a campaign to improve safety.

Stickers reminding people to check the identity of callers are being delivered to the 3,400 people who receive the meals service in Derbyshire.

The County Council is to give away a 'Stop, Chain, Check' sticker with every meal delivery.

The sticker is designed for people to put on the inside of their front doors to jog memories about their security.

It is based on traffic lights, with red warning people to stop and think if they are expecting somebody, amber reminding people to make sure their door chain is on and green urging people to check whether they know the person, and if not, then not to let them in.
