A second prisoner has absconded from a Derbyshire prison within two weeks. Brendon Walsh, 42, escaped from the open prison on Tuesday after failing to turn up for a medical appointment.
The Wolverhampton car dealer was serving nearly four years at HM Sudbury for handling stolen goods and obtaining cash by deception.
Richard Shaw, 39, from Nottingham, was rearrested last week after being on the run for a week after prison officers failed to notice he had not returned.
Walsh, of Regis Road, Tettenhall, admitted five counts of handling stolen goods, five of procuring a cheque by deception and six of obtaining cash by deception.
He also pleaded guilty to six charges of clocking mileage on cars under the Trade Description Act at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
A prison spokesman said: "He's unlawfully at large and police have been informed.
"If and when he's recovered he will be returned to closed conditions."
