Police in Derbyshire are launching a campaign to stop young people using ball bearing guns. So far this month there have been 62 firearms incidents - around two thirds said to involve BB guns or air weapons.
Since January, having an air weapon or imitation firearm in public is an arrestable offence although it is legal to buy one if labelled correctly.
The poster campaign is being launched on Tuesday at Belper School and will run throughout the school holidays.
Police say that three children have been shot with BB guns since the start of July.
