Actor opens Peak visitor centre

Brian Blessed opened the centre
A new visitor centre has been opened in the Peak District at Castleton.

The �1m centre, on Buxton Road, was opened on Monday by the president of the Council for National Parks, actor Brian Blessed.

The centre specialises in information about the Hope Valley and is open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm in summer and 10am to 5pm in winter.

It will also be home to the Castleton Historical Society's Museum collection, formerly housed at Higley Homestead.
