Anti-drugs scheme to be extended
A successful scheme to clamp down on drug dealers is being taken up by a second police force.

The "Rat on A Rat" campaign will be extended to Derbyshire after being launched in Nottinghamshire in September 2003.

It encourages people to contact the police about suspected drug dealers.

In the first six months of the campaign, more than 500,000 worth of drugs were seized and hundreds of suspects were arrested.

In the light of these results, Derbyshire police are beginning a similar scheme.

Thousands of posters have gone up around the county urging people to "Rat on a Rat".
