A man has appeared in court in Derby charged with making threats to kill and harrassment.

The charges follow the discovery of the body of a woman in a car in Longford, Derbyshire, on Monday night.

Tania Anne Moore, 26, a riding instructor from Alkmonton, had been shot in the head.

Mark Dyche, 34, of Thurvaston Road in Marston Montgomery, near Ashbourne, appeared in Derby magistrates court on Thursday.

He is charged with harrassing Miss Moore and making threats to kill.

Detectives still want to speak to witnesses who may have seen a Fiesta or Golf hatchback speeding away from the scene at Long Lane.

Police were called to the scene at 2155 BST on Monday after reports of a car crash involving a white VW Polo.

Mr Dyche was remanded in custody.
