Man killed in quarry accident
A man has been killed in an accident at Downlow Quarry on Sterndale Moor in Derbyshire.

The Barry Williams from Buxton was working at the base of the quarry just before midday on Monday when a rock fall crushed the metal cage in which he was working.

It took several hours to make the area surrounding the accident site safe before rescuers could reach the 61-year-old.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident and police are investigating the circumstances.
