Helicopters are pouring water on the fires |
It is thought one of the three fires burning in the Peak District National Park could have been started deliberately. Park officials believe the fire at Kinder Scout could be suspicious and an investigation is being carried out.
Helicopters are continuing to water bomb 2 square miles of land there and at another fire in the Bleaklow Moor area.
A blaze is also being tackled in the north of the park at Saddleworth Moor.
Chief Ranger Sean Prendergast says they are still investigating what sparked all three fires.
Safety plea
He said: "We suspect that one of them at least is arson. We don't yet have firm evidence of that but there is a strong suspicion.
"The other two fires we are not sure about at the moment."
Around 30 firefighters are tackling the fire on Kinder Scout.
Dozens more are also fighting the fire on Saddleworth Moor, which it is feared could be completely destroyed if it is not contained.
Despite this the National Park is still open and visitors are welcome but authorities are asking people to be especially careful.
