It is believed the missing canisters are on the premises |
Two canisters containing nuclear material have gone missing at the Sellafield plant in Cumbria. The small containers, containing material from the 1970s, were reported missing during a routine stocktake. But a spokeswoman confirmed the containers contained material of a "low risk" - grade one on a scale of one to 7 - and could not be easily opened. She also confirmed that it was believed they were on the premises and a thorough search would be carried out.
