Police are targeting motorists who park dangerously outside schools in Workington after a number of accidents. The most serious took place on 11 January when a three-year-old suffered a broken pelvis after being hit by a car outside Victoria Infant School.
Officers were out in force on Friday educating drivers and issuing fixed penalty notices during the school run.
Police will be doing the same on Monday and will continue similar patrols during February.
The schools being visited on Monday include St Mary's Roman Catholic Junior School in Salterbeck, Beckstone Primary in Harrington, Ashfield Junior and Infants Schools in Moorclose and Victoria Junior and Infants School in St Michaels.
