Beauty spots fair traders awarded
Three areas in South Cumbria are to be awarded Fairtrade status at a special ceremony on Saturday.

Fairtrade is a charity which makes sure that workers in the developing world are paid a fair price for their goods.

The Lakes Parish, Windemere and Bowness are to be awarded certificates during a ceremony on Bowness pier.

Traders in the regions had to ensure that restaurants, workplaces and cafes stock Fairtrade products to receive the special status.

More than 300 guests are expected to take a cruise on Windemere to celebrate gaining the award.

Fairtrade supporters across Cumbria are now hoping to band together to work for Fairtrade county status.
