Lake District rescuers find body
The body of a woman missing in the Lake District has been recovered by a mountain rescue search party.

The 49-year-old, who has not yet been named by police, is believed to have become separated from her partner in the Langdale Pikes area on Monday.

The Langdale and Ambleside rescue team began combing the area on Monday.

But the woman's body was found early on Tuesday after a helicopter from RAF Boulmer in Northumberland was called in to assist search efforts.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said an investigation had begun into the cause of death.

The woman's partner is safe and well.
