Delia Derbyshire grew up in Coventry, which is hosting the festival |
A festival is taking place to commemorate the works of the composer who wrote the Doctor Who theme music. Events are taking place across Coventry to remember Delia Derbyshire, who grew up in the city and who many regard as the pioneer of modern electronic music. Venues taking part in the festival include the 13th Century crypt at St Mary's Guildhall, a canal basin and a disused coal vault. Events will continue across the city until Sunday evening. The composer died in July 2001 aged 64.
