Severn Trent to get new 36m base
Plans for new 36m headquarters for Severn Trent in Coventry have been given the go ahead by councillors.

The new offices, in St John's Street, will be home to the water firm, which is currently based at Sheldon in Birmingham.

A total of 1,700 staff are expected to move to the new offices.

The site will be built on what is currently Much Street car park and open in 2009. Coventry City Council leader Ken Taylor said it was "great news".

The development, about 13 miles from the current headquarters, will include an energy saving building where rainwater would be recycled.
