Dangerous Halloween outfits found
Halloween costumes withdrawn from sale by Warwickshire trading standards
Halloween costumes withdrawn from sale
Halloween costumes that could choke a child have been found by trading standards officers in Warwickshire.

Flammable witches' wigs and hats were also found by officers, the county council said.

More than 70 capes and wigs have been removed from sale but consumers have been warned some of the items may still be on sale in certain stores.

Those who have already bought items are being urged not to use them and shops have been advised to withdraw them.

Unsafe cords

People returning the toys should be entitled to a refund and parents have been urged to look for the CE European Safety Mark when purchasing toys and costumes.

The withdrawn items include Scream Machine witches capes and an orange Children's Halloween Costume, distributed by Davies Products Liverpool.

Both were found to have unsafe neck cords which could potentially choke a child.

Officers found that the Witch Wig and Witches Hat with Green hair, distributed by David Halsall Ltd, failed flammability tests.
