Staff could be transferred to Whitley - four miles away |
Car firm Jaguar is considering leaving its Browns Lane site in Coventry. Parent company Ford has drawn up a list of proposals looking at moving staff to other Jaguar sites including Whitley, also in Coventry.
Car production ended at the site in July. About 500 people are still employed at the site which is mainly used for wood veneering.
Spokesman Don Hume said none of the proposals involved job losses. Jaguar has been at Browns Lane for 53 years.
Mr Hume said: "Moving remaining production at Browns Lane to another site is one of several considerations being made at this moment.
"It is very early days but the reality is that the way forward is to move from Browns Lane.
"But it could all remain in the Coventry area. The wood working shop could go to Whitley which is about four miles away."
