Vandals desecrate cemetery graves
Vandals have damaged a number of gravestones and monuments in a cemetery in Rugby.

Plants and flowers in the Croop Hill Cemetery in Addison Road had been thrown around and a number of statues and monuments have been damaged.

A woman visiting her father's grave discovered the damage.

Stephen Beasley, Parks and Cemeteries Manager for Rugby Borough Council, says the families are "understandably" very upset about the desecration.

"Any sort of action like that is always very distressing and especially in cemeteries of course, because people go there to mourn, to grieve and to think about families," said Mr Beasley.

"To have to deal with to picking up flowers and putting them back on the grave or looking for ornaments isn't the sort of thing they really need to be doing."
