Police chief's forces assessment
The chief constable of Warwickshire Police has outlined the options for the restructuring of the region's forces.

John Burbeck admitted that Warwickshire, one of the smallest forces in the country, could be amalgamated with the West Midlands.

But he said his preferred option would be a central force including West Mercia and Staffordshire.

He said he is confident the plans will be accepted by the government.

"The reality is as a result of this change that myself, my deputy and many of my heads of support department will lose our jobs, we understand that," he said.

"What we are trying to do is put in place arrangements that are the best for policing this part of the Midlands for now and for the future."
