Proposed mergers for ambulance trusts in the West Midlands have prompted concerns from some civic leaders. The number of ambulance trusts in England could be cut by two-thirds under government proposals.
West Midlands could be covered by just one service which would incorporate the four existing trusts which currently cover the area.
But Warwickshire county councillors have said they are worried this will diminish the quality of local services.
The chief executive of Staffordshire Ambulance Trust has also said there is no evidence that large ambulance services saved either more lives or money.
