Warning over distraction burglary
Residents are being warned after a distraction burglary in Coventry.

A man went to a house in Craven Street, Chapelfields, on Wednesday evening and said he had to check the taps as their was a water problem on the road.

The owner told the man to leave when he became suspicious and found a second man upstairs. Money had been taken.

In a second incident, two men later went to a house on St Georges Road claiming to be from the water board but left empty-handed.

The caller in the first incident is described as a white male, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a short brown jacket with dark trousers and a hat.

The men in the second incident are described as white and both were wearing baseball caps, jeans and fleeces.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them with information.
