One of the highlights of the farming and agricultural calendar is opening to the public on Sunday. The Royal Show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire attracted around 160,000 visitors last year and organisers are hoping for an even bigger crowd now.
One of the more unusual attractions at the four-day event will be a display of lingerie made from stinging nettles designed by student Alex Dear.
There will also be a variety of food stalls selling home-grown specialities.
The newly-merged Farm Retail and Markets Association will be officially launched at this year's show and the Percheron, a heavy horse breed which was only introduced into Britain 90 years ago, will be competing in its own national championships.
Visitors are advised to leave extra time for their journey due to roadworks at Longbridge Island by the A46.
