Striking binmen to clear backlog
Refuse collectors will work over the weekend to take away rubbish which has built up during a dispute about plans to change their pay and conditions.

A two-day strike was held in Coventry last week as part of an ongoing disagreement with the city council.

In a separate incident they stopped work on Wednesday, claiming they were told they would lose some pay for going to a union meeting in the morning.

But the council announced in the afternoon that no pay would be lost.

It added that those who attended the meeting would not face disciplinary action.
