Council launches city jobs bus

Thousands of jobs will be created around the Arena
A jobs bus has been launched to enable people in Coventry to apply for thousands of jobs created by the redevelopment of the north east of the city.

The Jobs Bus aims to let people living near the Arena development have first opportunity at the jobs on offer.

More than 3,000 jobs will be created in and around the Arena stadium.

Around 700 of these will be at the Tesco superstore which opens in November.

Coventry City Council spokeswoman, Margaret Bates, said the Arena was an important development and the bus would give people living nearby the opportunity to apply for jobs.

"There is a job for everyone there, right across the board," she said.

"From marketing to administration - anything you can think of. You name it, it's there."
