Jaguar says quality is of "paramount importance" |
Luxury car maker Jaguar has hit back at a survey which rated its cars as among the least reliable on the roads. Insurer Warranty Direct placed the company 26th out of 27 for reliability, based on the number of breakdowns and the average cost of repair.
Jaguar said the number of its cars used in the study was too small to provide objective results.
The firm said other surveys showed increased levels of customer satisfaction with its vehicles.
Jaguar said the most recent study by research company JD Power showed a marked increase in customer approval ratings for its cars.
That survey showed Jaguar rose from 10th place in 2003 to third this year, said the company.
In a statement, the Ford-owned company said: "Jaguar considers that quality products are of paramount importance and the company will continue to work relentlessly towards achieving total customer satisfaction.
"The data received by Warranty Direct conflicts directly with our own internal measures and other independent surveys."
