The travellers moved onto the greenbelt land two years ago |
The High Court has ruled more than 100 travellers living in north Warwickshire can be evicted from their land. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have fought an ongoing battle to evict the families, who have lived on the land in Bulkington for two years.
The travellers did not apply for planning permission to erect buildings, fences and roads on the land.
A planning meeting will now discuss how to provide alternative accommodation for the families affected.
The travellers bought the land before moving into caravans on the site, building roads and erecting fences.
Although they had purchased the land, the development of the site was against the law.
The council postponed an eviction in January after the group dug trenches, formed a human shield and set fire to caravans to prevent bailiffs from evicting them.
