Snow caused disruption in south-west England on Monday, with a number of schools forced to close.
The Highways Agency said gritters would be working overnight to keep Devon and Cornwall's major routes clear.
Many head teachers across the region said they would review whether or not to keep schools open on Tuesday.
Sandford Primary, Southbrook College, and Bideford College in Devon will shut and Budehaven Community School and Launceston College in Cornwall.
The Isles of Scilly saw a dusting of snow for the first time since 1987 and Guernsey has also been affected, with some hospital operations cancelled.

First Great Western advised customers going beyond Exeter not to travel unless absolutely necessary. It has only been running full services as far as Reading.
As a result of heavy snow in London, the train company had a limited service on to Paddington.
Buses replaced trains after a landslip on the Newquay to Par branch line at Pointsmill on Sunday morning, although this was not related to the weather.
