Water company hitting leak target
New figures released on Thursday have revealed that last year South West Water (SWW) lost 83m litres a day through leaks.

The water industry regulator OFWAT says that represents an improvement, and that the firm is hitting its target.

Water leaks have led to a series of complaints from customers but SWW says it never ignores complaints.

The company said it is pleased to be among the best utility companies in the country for saving water.

In a statement, the company said: "South West Water is proud of the fact that it is one of the industry leaders in the area of leakage detection and repair.

"Since 1999, the company has outperformed the leakage level targets set by industry regulator Ofwat and this year marks the sixth successive year the target has been met."
