Rare turtle may be Cornwall bound
Researchers in Cornwall are mapping the progress of a leatherback turtle which set off from the Caribbean at the end of May.

The Marine Turtle Research Group said "Malliouhana" could end up in Cornish waters. The group are using a satellite tracker to see where she is.

The rare turtle left the beach on the small island of Anguilla where she laid her eggs.

Since then she has travelled an average 45km a day.

However researchers admit they are likely to learn little from tracking a single turtle.

They say she has become a personality on Anguilla where they are raising awareness among islanders about how few turtles nest on their beaches each year.
