Danish visit for airport business
Airport managers are visiting Denmark this week in the hope of finding new airline businesses to use the Newquay Airport in Cornwall.

They are attending a forum of more than 200 airlines in Copenhagen.

Airline consultancy group Avia is looking for new business on behalf of Cornwall County Council.

Newquay Airport shares a runway, air traffic control and emergency facilities with the St Mawgan RAF base, which is due to be mothballed in 2007.

Avia spokesman, Jason Buckland, said there had already been a lot of interest in Newquay Airport.

He said: "We have a number of meetings set up - about 17 in total - and so far about half have been interested in Newquay and Cornwall."

Mr Buckland said Avia was looking at a range of operations at home and abroad for Newquay, which included low cost and charter services.
