New landfill site opens for waste
Cornwall's first new landfill site for 20 years has opened.

Viridor Waste Management Limited has taken over the Lean Quarry site near Liskeard, which has a capacity of three million cubic metres.

It will provide a waste and recycling one stop shop with a Materials Recycling Facility, a waste transfer station and a landfill disposal site.

Cornwall's two existing landfill sites at United Mines and Conon Bridge are running out of space.
