Police seek cliff-top witnesses
Tintagel
Police want to speak to anyone on cliffs near Merlin's Cave
Police are appealing for witnesses who could have information about a diver who died off the Cornish coast.

The 36-year-old man, who was from Hertfordshire, had been diving off the coast near Tintagel Castle with two friends on Sunday.

Police are appealing for anyone who was on the cliffs near Merlin's Cave between 1100 BST and 1200 and saw the three divers surface to contact them.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out on his body on Monday.

Two friends who had been diving with the man raised the alarm after they surfaced and realised he had got into trouble.

A search and rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor in north Devon was scrambled to the scene, along with the Port Isaac Inshore Lifeboat and the Boscastle coastguard team.

A body was later found by the lifeboat crew.
