Cornwall's Eden Project has been shortlisted for an award for its architecture. The project's new foundation building has been particularly praised for its use of environmentally-friendly design.
And in Devon the Portland Square building at the University of Plymouth and Peralta at Maidencombe, Torquay have also made it onto the shortlist.
The annual Royal Institute of British Architecture Awards are described as the Oscars of the architectural world.
Green materials
The awards are given to buildings which boast excellent design, and which make a positive contribution to the local environment.
The Eden Foundation building is the only one in Cornwall to be shortlisted.
It has been commended for its use of green materials, such as recycled newspaper insulation.
It is also completely PVC free and is naturally lit and ventilated.
The winners will be announced next month.
