Crime survey monitoring behaviour
Rowdy-looking blokes
Agencies will use the figures for ways of tackling anti-social behaviour
Levels of anti-social behaviour in Cornwall are being monitored as part of efforts to assess the true impact it has on communities across the county.

A seven-day count of incidents is being organised by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Community Safety Partnership.

A similar survey carried out last September revealed 744 incidents of anti-social behaviour in 24 hours.

It is hoped the count will provide a true reflection of problems, as well as identifying where and when they occur.

Second survey

A variety of organisations will be collecting the data this week, from housing providers to members of Neighbourhood Watch groups.

Once the data has been collected, it will be collated through a community safety information hub and the results will contribute to a Crime Audit of 2004.

Police and other agencies involved will then use the figures to come up with new ways of tackling it.

A second survey will be carried out in August in an attempt to asses the impact of tourism and school holidays on levels of anti-social activity.
