1,600 entries for tourism awards
North Cornwall/Devon coast
The final winner will be announced in November
A record number of entries has been received for the 2004 Cornwall Tourism Awards so far.

The awards are given on an annual basis for excellence throughout the industry and attract nominations in various categories from all over the county.

There have already been 500 public nominations and 1,600 entries across 16 categories.

Judging of the competition is under way and the final of the event is due to take place in November.

The panel includes Debbie Smith from the Cornwall Tourist Board; Nick Brown from the British Hospitality Association; Nicky Brown, a local self-catering provider, and Gareth James, formerly of the British Tourist Authority.
