New facilities set to boost docks
Falmouth Docks
The new facilities could turn Falmouth into a one-stop port
New facilities at a Cornish docks are expected to boost the number of ships visiting the port of Falmouth.

Vessels will now be able to wash out their tanks using specialist equipment at Falmouth Docks.

Until now skippers have had to sail to Rotterdam or Le Havre for the service.

The dock's owners, A&P Falmouth, say it will turn Falmouth into a one-stop port for shipping and boost trade by attracting vessels using the English Channel.

The new facilities will also mean a quicker turnaround for ships needing to empty and wash their tanks before entering dry dock at Falmouth.
