Emma Callar
Emma Callar died in August last year
The results of an investigation into a suspected cancer cluster In Cornwall will be announced on Wednesday.

A team of public health experts have been examining fears that there could be a link between six cases of bone cancer in young adults around Helston.

Experts from the South West Cancer Intelligence Service (SWCIS) in Bristol were called in following concerns expressed by local people about the number of cases.

Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer and the sixth most common cancer in children.

All six cases are thought to have links with Helston Community College.

One former pupil, 19-year-old Emma Callar, first became ill in 1999 and died in August last year.

Another teenager, 15-year-old Amiee Plant, was diagnosed with bone cancer earlier in 2003.
