Ship escorted into port
A tanker carrying aviation fuel which suffered problems off the coast of Cornwall has been towed into Falmouth.

The Galway Fisher's engine broke down in near gale force winds and rough seas.

The vessel was en route from Rotterdam to Belfast when technical problems left her without power 13 miles off Land's End.

Falmouth Coastguard, who co-ordinated the operation, sent the tug Anglian Princess to help.

They were concerned that if the coastal tanker did not regain power the bad weather could have blown her towards shore.

The ship eventually managed to start her propellers but was escorted into Falmouth by the tug in case of further problems.
