People aged over 50 in north Cornwall are being given the chance to join a new group to debate issues of concern. The group, called the Senior Coast and Country Senate, should be up and running by the end of February.
Help the Aged hosted an open meeting at the Gaia Energy Centre in September to see if older people in the area were interested in setting up a senior citizens' forum to give them a voice on matters affecting their age group.
There was a good response and a steering committee was formed.
It is hoped a public meeting will be held in February to launch the new organisation.
The membership secretary of the new organisation Robin Armer, who lives in Tintagel, says it will give a particular age group one voice.
