The RSPCA has launched an investigation after a raccoon was found on the loose in Cornwall. It is the second one to be discovered in the county in the last four years.
Raccoons are classed as dangerous animals and can only be owned under licence.
The raccoon was captured by RSPCA officers after it was spotted sitting on top of a shed at Paul, near Penzance.
It is thought to have been in the area for several weeks.
The RSPCA says that, while raccoons can be friendly when hand-reared, they are covered by the Dangerous Wild Animals Act, and anyone wanting to keep one needs a licence.
