Royal date for tree decorator
Christmas decorations
Katherine Stratfield will also decorate the tree at Windsor Castle
A woman from Cornwall has been to Buckingham Palace to decorate the Queen's personal Christmas tree.

It is the second year running stage dresser Katherine Stratfield from Trewarmett, near Tintagel, has been asked to decorate the royal tree.

Ms Stratfield went to Falmouth College of Arts before perfecting her craft in London.

For many years she transformed the interiors of nightclubs and worked on stage sets for well-known performers.

Invited back

Then last year a designer invited her to decorate the main trees in Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

After several hours using hundreds of lights and ornaments, the end result obviously pleased her royal customer and she was invited back.

Ms Stratfield has just completed the tree in the Queen's Gallery at the palace and will dress the one at Windsor Castle next month.
