School fire treated as arson

Two temporary buildings have been destroyed in a fire at a school in Cornwall.

Emergency services were called to Redruth Community School at about 0620 BST on Saturday and found the huts well alight.

Three fire appliances attended the scene, one from Redruth and two from Camborne.

No-one was injured in the incident, which is being treated as arson.

Devon and Cornwall Police said investigations into the cause of the fire will get under way during Saturday.

Sergeant Alan Mobbs said: "What will happen is that police officers and fire officers will go down and look at the cabins to see if they can establish why this fire started.

"The initial assessment is that there was nothing in there that should have caused the fire and, therefore, we're saying it is of doubtful origin."
