An inquiry into the violent deaths of two women killed by their mentally ill partners in Cornwall is due to reveal its findings. Tammy Little, 36, was strangled at her home in Hayle Towans in 2000 by Errol Leong, 38, who suffers from chronic paranoid schizophrenia.
Leong had been arrested the day before for threatening her, only to be released after a doctor assessed him and advised against detaining him.
Leong, from Hayle, was sent to a secure hospital for an indefinite period after he admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Carol Trethewey, 51, was repeatedly stabbed in her home at Boscoppa, near St Austell, in 2000 by husband Brian.
He had been suffering from paranoia and was under the care of Cornwall Healthcare Trust.
He was sentenced to three years' probation on condition that he resided in a hospital and then at a home for the mentally ill.
The former Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Health Authority and the new South West Strategic Health Authority commissioned an independent inquiry into the deaths.
South West Health Authority chairman Judy Leverton and chief executive Thelma Holland will comment on the reports at a special open board meeting in St Austell.
