The funeral takes place on Monday of Mary Jones, the co-founder of the National Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall. Tributes have been paid to the "quiet determination" of Mrs Jones, who died on 4 July after a long battle with emphysema.
She and her husband Ken ran the sanctuary at Gweek for 37 years during which the publicity-shy Mary, became the backbone of the charity.
He says in their 51 years together they witnessed history through their work with injured and rescued seals.

"She was a great woman, a lady, I shall miss her," said Mr Jones.
"The first year we had one injured seal and then people knew we had one and they brought us others.
"People also brought us birds, turtles and dolphins," he said.
The seal sanctuary's population has now grown to 17.
Mr Jones says Mary wanted her final resting place to be in the garden where he can visit her everyday.
Her family has asked that donations be made to the Wellington ward at The Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske instead of flowers.
